Miller, Frederick

Born in Pennsylvania in 1752, Frederick served as a Private in the American Revolutionary War. He served under Captain Patterson, 1780 and Captain Moseley, 1781. His service is documented in the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution database.

In his pension application, he writes, “[I] was born in Pennsylvania the county not recollected and lived until I was about 10 years of age, my father killed by the Indians in the neighborhood and m mother and family moved to Shanandoah River in Virginia Pennsylvania the county not recollected. I then moved to Buckingham in Virginia when I was about 20 years. I then moved to Wilkes County North Carolina and lived about 18 years. I then moved to Bedford County Tennessee one year. I then moved to Wayne County Ky where I now live and have lived about 20 years.”

The Wayne County Courthouse has an incredible archive. It was there I found copies of his original pension application, dated 1832.

I believe his father to be Frederick Jacob Mueller, born 1705 in Erbach, Alb-Donau-Kreis, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. However this information has not been proved with historical/legal documents.
